Join the Los Angeles Housing Department’s webinar for information on Senate Bill 721, which mandates inspections of multifamily properties with three (3) or more units with elevated balconies, decks, porches, stairways, or walkways higher than six feet above grade. This requirement follows the tragic elevated balcony collapse on June 15, 2015, in Berkeley, California, which resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries during a birthday celebration. In response, California enacted Senate Bill No. 721 to ensure routine structural stability inspections for specified exterior elevated elements on multifamily rental buildings.
