Join the Los Angeles Housing Department’s webinar to learn about the State’s new law, regarding buildings with three (3) or more multifamily units that contain elevated balconies, decks, porches, stairways, and walkways over six feet above grade. On June 15, 2015, tragedy struck in the California town of Berkeley, where during a birthday party celebration many were killed and injured when an elevated exterior balcony collapsed. Subsequently, the State of California passed Senate Bill No. 721 requiring certain exterior elevated elements of multifamily buildings to be routinely inspected regarding structural stability.

The webinars will be presented by LAHD’s Code Enforcement Staff to explain the new state law provisions and what to expect during the inspection. The one-hour webinars include a Q&A session. The session will be held via Zoom.
