The City’s Tenant Buy Out Notification and Disclosure Program, also known as “Cash
for Keys”, is when a landlord offers a tenant money in exchange for the tenant to move
from their rental unit voluntarily. This program is only for units covered under the City’s
Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO). Landlords must provide tenants with a copy of the
RSO Disclosure Notice and file a copy with the City of Los Angeles Housing
Department (LAHD) for it to be a valid agreement. Join us for one of our weekly
